WORKSHOP: The Impact of US trade war – Chinese for Vietnamese wood industry: Shifting foreign investments, opportunities and risks in the import and export

06/21/2019 next day, Association of Vietnam Timber and Forest Products (VIFORES), the Handicrafts and Wood Industry City. Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA), Association of Wood Binh Duong (BIFA), Forest Products Association of Binh Dinh (FPA Binh Dinh) and Forest Trends jointly organized the seminar: ” The impact of war commercial US – China for Vietnamese wood industry: Shifting foreign investments, opportunities and risks in the export-import “

Workshops are held at: Room Thang Long – 7th Floor, Melia Hotel, 44 Ly Thuong Kiet, Hanoi

Time: 8:00 am  to 13:00 pm, Friday, June 21 2019

The objective of the seminar:

  • Assess the shift of foreign investment, especially from China into Vietnam’s wood industry in the context of trade war US – China increase
  • Identify opportunities and new risks in the export of some of Vietnam’s wood products due to the impact of this war
  • Update on the situation of export woodchips Vietnam in the context of the Government is considering the possibility of increased export duties chips
  • Update on the import of wood Africa to Vietnam as countries of this continent are those Chau major changes in policy and commercial exploitation of timber
  • To discuss and propose policy solutions to expand export opportunities and minimize risks to the sector in the context of the world market is more volatile.
