In Vietnam, this species is distributed in Gia Lai, Kontum, Dak Lak, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa. It usually grows in moist, evergreen, primeval and secondary forests in the valley, along streams, legs and low slopes, regenerating vigorously under forest canopy in moist soil.
Tree for large timber, straight with distinguished core, thin light gray, thick gray pink, round year slightly clear, wood cracked, smooth, hard, difficult to saw.
